About

Red Clay Ranch Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc. happened by accident, by luck, or by Divine Providence. It was not the original plan for our retirement. That said, we are enormously grateful that fate directed us into this mission.

We soon discovered that neglect and abuse were prevalent all over the country, and Georgia was no exception. We could not turn a blind eye and soon found ourselves with ever-increasing numbers of equine in need.

RCR’s current population holds at about 80 with some being trained for re-homing. We have adopted certain areas of our property to accommodate those with special requirements such as our blind horse population.

Volunteer

We are always ready to welcome volunteers to Red Clay Rescue! There are plenty of opportunities to help us feed, mend fences, groom horses, and help out around the farm. Being at the farm is therapeutic and both our volunteers and horses feel better at the end of the day. You might even get a horse hug (or two) for helping out!

Your time is also very valuable! We are always in need of volunteers to help out with special skill sets; such as fundraising, event planning, horse grooming, or horse training. Maybe you have no horse experience and are “just an overall crafty person” that loves animals; such as a quilter, painter, wood/iron worker that could donate an item for auction?

We take pride in our commitment to the well-being of horses. Our ranch provides a sanctuary for horses that have been abandoned, neglected, or abused. We offer them a second chance at a better life by providing them with medical attention, proper nutrition, and a safe environment to live in.
